The West Cork Horse Breeders cooperative society is located in the south west corner of Ireland and has been in existence since 1993. It is a voluntary organisation dedicated to the support and promotion of the horse breeding industry in the Cork area. Various seminars and competitions are organised each year to support these goals. A jumping competition for young horses held annualy is proving to be a hugely successful event, attracting interest from all over the country. Cork, world renowned for the breeding of top quality competition horses. Tough indigenous mares helped by some wonderful Thoroughbred sires Blassompierre and Edmund Burke to mention but a few, have all contributed to the success. Don't Step Back, Supreme Rock, Custom Made and the latest winner Balladeer Alfred are all world class horses. Membership As a member of the West Cork Horse Breeders you are entitled to enter our competitions, attend seminars and lectures on breeding and training young horses, use our web-site to advertise your horses for sale, avail of our services e.g. Foster Mother scheme or just generally use the social occasions to mix and share your views with other breeders! All for an annual membership of just €25. The final closing date for membership is March 31st.

    Performance Show to be held at the West Cork Equine Centre, Kilbrittan, Co.Cork by kind permission of Wayne & Geri Santry on Saturday July 28th. Prize Fund of €4,000. Ridden/Jumping - 4yr/5yr/Young Riders (Outdoor) begins at 11am. Loose Jumping - 3 year old horses/ponies (Indoor) begins at 12 noon. Postal entries only. Closing date is Tuesday July 24th 2012.
